I have seen a Gretsch which looks odd, and sounds cool, and a guy near me is selling this, which sounds surprisingly good. Not sure how the acoustic top will hold up!

    There's actually much less stress on the top than with a normal bridge, because most of the tension is carried by the end block.

    I'm guessing from the lack of anything similar to that one from a Google search that the Bigsby is aftermarket though.

  • I used to have a Gretsch G400CV with a factory bigsby. It probably straddled the realm between acoustic and electric, with a full sized hollow body. It was lush.
