Sorted: Affordable Tremolo Pedal

As per the title. Nothing too fancy needed, as it'll only likely be used for a couple of songs in my band's setlist so don't want to spend big bucks. Even something with just the 2 knobs like the Joyo pedal would probably do.

Anyone got anything cheap but sturdy/functional that is surplus to requirements?

Thanks for the suggestions. Interesting options, but I was hoping for something that was battery powered rather than adapter, and I presume the little ones like the trelicopter are adaptor only.

Ah sorry yep, adapter only. Though you can buy cables with a 9v jack on one end and a battery snap on the other, and sit the battery next to it.

Obviously no good for pedals where they don’t use a battery because of huge power requirements, but for low current pedals that are just too small it’s an option

TBH if cheap, functional and solid-performing is what you want then the Joyo trem is actully pretty good.

I used to have one. Got rid of it for a Supro and then added a SA Vertigo (my current go-to), but the Joyo performed absolutely fine and actually doesn't have the noise / volume-jump problems that the Supro does*

*It's ace in many ways - a full-fat tremolo - but it does have its problems!.

Also, the Joyo works better in an FX loop than the Supro (which further amplifies preamp noise).

Thanks that's good to know. Always a bit of a minefield with the real bargain basement manufacturers I feel. Never quite confident of the build quality when it's something I'm potentially going to be gigging. I've looked at the Joyo, Biyang, Behringer pedals and been tempted.

Quite tempted by a TC Electronic Choka if I can find one used. They're a more established brand, and they look pretty robust in terms of build.

I’ve always been a bit puzzled by that TC line, they’re in rugged enclosures, but the footswitch for example looks like a regular footswitch but inside instead of a 3pdt, there’s a shaft that pokes a plastic button on the pcb

I have a Behringer UT300 going spare, only after £15. Cheap and cheerful but still quite sturdy imo

The UT300 is a copy of the Boss Tr-2, in case you were unaware OP. It may even be the updated tr-2 with the volume issue fixed. A fine basic choice along with the Joyo and the Mooer. I think the Behringer can take a battery too.
