Percussion Stomp boxes/Cajon

Been looking at loads recently to the point where my head now hurts.

Ive had a logjam which I thought was awful, but looking at few others (mostly digital which include the ortega horsekick, Roland SPD One etc. I may even just get a cajon and a kick pedal and be done with it..

If it could a couple of sounds, that would be ace! Any advice on this?

  • Take a look at our licence plate stompers. Simple and pretty bombproof - my personal one has done Glastonbury three times,  survived being submerged in mud and still keeps going. I put it thru' the PA, using a DI is handy but not essential.  Sound engineers always seem to get a nice big thump out of it, whether it's at a pub gig or big stage. I occasionally use a  kick drum and pedal, but I find a simple stomper box is much more natural for me as I cannot cope with proper "heel-up" kick drum technique. Also, the stomper is pretty thin, so can easily be used when standing up. https://www.chickenbonejohn.com/collections/amplifiers-stompers/products/footstomp-box-license-plate
