Found it a little polite for my taste, so swapped the A3 for an A5 magnet, hated it, swapped back to A3, accidentally stripped the D-string screw thread hole with a mis-placed clamp as I was putting the open topped cover back on, then re-wax potted it (3 mins at 70 degrees).

As can be seen in the photo, I've come up with an ingenious fix to return the D screw thread to fully operational capacity. I say all the above not just for full disclosure, but because when I got these off Fletcher pickups they were pristine, uncovered and I wouldn't want anyone buying this to think its now used and abused condition is representative of Fletcher Pickups' excellent work.

I tested it at practice this week and despite my magnet swapping, thread stripping, and wax dipping, it's fully working, no microphonics, and sounds like it did before - ie a little polite, so it can go to someone with more refined taste.

7.7k, balanced coils, Alnico 3.
