FS:Retrovibe Bass Conversion Neck WITHDRAWN

Bought a Retrovibe bass conversion neck for a project that is now sadly not going to happen. Its unused, undrilled even.
14mm holes, 30.6" scale, 22 fret vintage maple tint. Looks fab, convert a tele body to a short scale bass.
Paid £95 delivered so £70 posted to your door? (or other front entrance based device)

So where do you place the bridge on the Tele do get it to intonate correctly ?

Same place as standard if its a conversion neck, you would have to position the Bass bridge so the saddles align where the Tele ones were, I think I would go top load rather than try to plug and redo the originals..
Im must admit Im tempted by this neck…could probably use a blade humbucker in the standard rout and direct mount? Dunno, but its interesting…

you have to measure from the twelfth fret half the scale length (or just measure 30.5" inches from the nut) have a look at the retrovibe website as he has quite a few ready conversions for sale as well.

Im teetering on keeping it and buying a body to fit it too (or even a glarry tele for it from ebay) so someone buy it to stop me buggering about

The Retrovibe website provides a clear indication of their conversion bridge and pickup plate system.

Short version;
• pickup mounted through abbreviated metal plate à la Rossi 'n' Parfitt.
• Esquire pickguard to hide the redundant neck position pickup cavity.

• Tailpiece the size of a cheese grater to get the bridge saddles in the correct position.

The tailpiece alteration is irreversible.

It’s the sea foam one, I’d not considered selling it but I’m open to offers I think

I was actually thinking about it for Jess’s Telecaster she’s wanting to play a bit of Bass this might work

I was actually thinking about it for Jess’s Telecaster she’s wanting to play a bit of Bass this might work

The potential purchaser I had in mind has now seen (and rejected) a full scale length version of the same bass, in the same colour. Apologies for getting your hopes up.

Roughly halfway between the strap button and where the strings-through-body holes are drilled into a regular Telecaster guitar body.

The Retrovibe neck conversion is not as simple and reversible as, say, a Warmoth 24.75" scale neck intended to fit onto a body that would normally have a 25.5" scale.

no worries , I’d not considered selling until you mentioned it anyway, more than happy to keep it for bass noodle duties
