Dont be put off getting a Horizontal Input 2204 50w They didnt suffer the same cost cutting exercise as the 2203 100 w. Awesome amps and can be picked up cheaper than a vertical input 2203. Mine sounds better than my JMP 2203.

  • Had a horizontal 50 watter (1985) before, not bad but not as good as vertical 2203's, IMHO.

+1. I currently use a 1984 2204 head. Absolutely fantastic. It has shed loads of bottom end thump. Stupidly loud though so don't ignore how useful the low input is then boost with pedals. I use a Fulltone OCD with mine which sounds wonderful.
