    Is the Belton Brick 3 Reverb based on any particular pedal? What are the functions for the two knobs?

    @Macca-24 BED available
    @joetele the reverb is the musikding 3-verb kit, controls are mix and decay. Belton 3 adds a variable decay parameter over Belton 2 reverbs such as the JRAD Boing etc, which have a fixed decay length and hence are far less flexible. Pseudo-decay is usually achieved in those reverbs by damping that fixed length, which doesn't sound as good. This one I built has a very warm, natural sound, perfect for amps without onboard reverb, rather than an 'effect' verb.

    Thanks chum. I quite like the almost oscillating reverbs like the Levitation and the Meteore.

    So is it a Spring reverb emulation?

    They're often marketed as such. In my opinion it straddles spring and hall sounds. Good for adding depth and a bit of spring tank ambience, not so good for getting splashy surf tones.

    Note the table in the article, this is a BTDR-3-based reverb:

    ModelDecay Time
    BTDR-1 S2 sec
    BTDR-1 M2.5 sec
    BTDR-1 L2.8 sec
    BTDR-2 S2 sec
    BTDR-2 M2.5 sec
    BTDR-2 L2.8 sec
    BTDR-3.5 sec to 3.2 sec
