WTB - Oil City Stone Tone Strat Pickups

PhilMPhilM Frets: 269
After (another) set of what have become my absolute favourite Strat single coils. Happy with neck and middle, or a full set.

I can do you a neck/centre pair. Equal length rod magnet polepieces to suit flatter fingerboard radii.

I need to check whether these are regular specification or customer order "special". They certainly go well with a Scrapyard Dog Plus humbucker nearest the bridge. :)

    Be seeing you.

if they're the "standard" output then I'm very interested :)

    Published spec is 7.2kOhms.

In circuit, my pair read 7.75 (N) and 7.5k (M), respectively - measured using a cronky, old analogue meter with a sprung needle.

I think the special order ones that you had for sale before were up into the 8ohm range weren’t they? So I’m assuming these aren’t them. Also assuming that a look at the back of them is out of the question as they’re still in a guitar

The only thing of which I am certain is that my multimeter is only any real use in continuity tests. :frown:

Metered from the output conductor solder joints, both my OCP Stonetone pickups read 8.0k.

They have black and white ID labels rather than the black, white and green Masterwound type.

Clearly, these are not what you seek. I apologise for derailing your Discussion.
    Be seeing you.

  • I have a middle Stone Tone, and a custom order underwound Diamond Geezer which I used in the neck. In case you don't know, the Diamond Geezer is tapped to offer a Stone Tone sound on lower power, and then a hot Dave Gilmour-ish tone on full power. I custom ordered one for the neck position, but I found the full power tone thicker than I wanted in that position. I think it'd work a treat in the bridge though. Any interest?

    Middle is RWRP.
