Paganini (Caprice no 5)

What's Hot
I was looking for something else on YT earlier when I happened upon this:

I've seen Vai and others' interpretations on electric guitars loads of times and I've seen a lot of Marcin playing a variety of pieces but IMHO this one's the daddy! The use of harmonics to replace high frets and the interspersed tapping on the soundbox is fantastic.

I saw the Paul David's vid of him learning this over a one year period, where he stated that it was the hardest thing he's had to learn ... just wondering if anyone has learned this and actively practices to keep in shape?

How long did you take to master it? What's the toughest bit?

Not that I have any aspirations ... I just always loved the piece.

Stu

That is insanely good.  Had a huge smile on my face, both from the excitement that he added into the piece but also just recognizing the level of talent needed to play like that.

I love the fact that as I sat there with my mouth open I got a YouTube pop up asking if I wanted to ‘Buy the tab to learn this track !’…….. yeah right   !

Edit - just saw the comments on the video and that seems to be a common theme

I had to look it up too but suppose it's a good fit with the theme in Crossroads  :)

Marcin is like the physical manifestation of what Alan Partridge imagines he's doing when he plays air guitar....

It's easier just to watch the film ... it'll be a bit dated now but it's an easy watch and the soundtrack is still good ... some great Ry Cooder playing for sure.
