Anybody got either of those going spare for my partscaster project?

I've a Custom Custom that's surplus to requirements.
It's had a few magnet swaps and covers fitted over the years so the tape isn't original, but works fine.

    £45 PPG delivered?

Hi @normula1 could explain more about the magnet swaps please. Has it still got the original Alnico II bar magnet? Or did it need changing as it needed repairing? Has it been rewound? Have the changes altered the sound from how it was originally? Thanks

No rewinds... I think it's the original magnet, it's certainly A2. I actually preferred it with an A5 and an A4 is pretty nice as well. Tape was simply replaced as it got a little gloopy when a previous cover was fitted and potted on which was subsequently removed. It is currently sporting a nickel cover which does change the sound a bit, but I'll happily remove it.

The SH-5 Duncan Custom came first. It had a ceramic bar magnet.

Some users disliked the tonal balance so they experimented with Alnico bar magnets instead.

The SH-11 Custom Custom is exactly the same coils as the SH-5, sitting on top of an A2 magnet.

Similarly, the SH-15 Custom 5 is the same old SH-5 coils on an A5 magnet.

A4 would yield a tone somewhere between A2 and A5.
    Be seeing you.

Thanks for the pics @normula1. I am going for the none cover look, is it a black bobbin? You'll have to excuse my ignorance but it wasn't until last night that I learnt what a Trembucker was, so I need to check the string spacing on my partscaster to see if thats the size I need off the SD CC. Or should I not worry about it too much?

It is black bobbins with the Duncan logo on the screw coil. I've never really bothered too much about string spacing, and it's not been an issue with this pickup.
I've only ever had one pickup where it was an issue and this CC was fine in the same guitar.
