I'm looking to move on my Boss Me-5. It's in good condition with some signs of use but still rock solid. It works well and produces some excellent analog distortion and modulation tones (with the same circuits as various classic boss pedals). The main problem is it has the same issue many boss ME-5s have: The battery backup is dead, so it loses its presets (which are stored in a midi format). You can restore it to factory settings very easily on startup, which is what I do, and they sound great and are interesting enough in their own right but if you want to write your own then you'll need to get the soldering iron out. Depending on the iteration these either have a little cell battery or a capacitor. It looks like on mine the previous owner replaced a dead capacitor with a cell battery holder (not particularly neatly). It worked for a while for me, but I reckon there is an intermittent/dry solder joint which has now failed. I'd take it apart to try and fix but it looks quite an ordeal to strip down, so I'd rather leave it in "working but with issues" condition for someone else to deal with, rather than risk bricking it myself. All that being said it's a great fun piece of kit, producing some awesome tones and really is an all-in-one package for gigging. Pricing is a bit tricky, but i've seen them sell spares/repairs on eBay for around the £60 mark, so lets call it that. I'm also very open to trades - I'm particularly interested in some decent stratocaster pickups to drop in to my squier strat, or some other interesting pedal...
TL;DR: Works but doesn't remember presets. Probably an easy fix if you know what you are doing. Great classic boss tones. £60 posted.
