    Surely that’s repairable? Many a neck can be pressed and clamped  with a back bow then the truss rod tightened

    Tried that many times. With the neck clamped into a back bow, the end of the truss rod doesn't stick out any farther then when it's not in a back bow so the truss rod isn't moving. I've tried flexing the neck, both ways, then putting into a back bow and tightening the nut up but when I remove the clamps the neck goes into a forward bow. I've tried shocking the truss rod in case some glue has got it stuck but whatever I do, it won't move.
