Best Mic Stand for Recording acoustic

Hello

I'm in the market for a good solid Boom stand for recording acoustic guitar sitting down.

I have read up a lot about the K&M stands as they have sturdy legs.

There are alot out there so any experience would be great.

I use Hercules boom stands. No issues with them.

K&M do a variety, get a heavy one if using a large diaphragm condenser. The beyer dynamics are also good.

Its very good and legs balance well, and you only need to loosen one clutch thing to reposition.

This is very solid and tall too, maybe too much if you are not using heavy mics.

I'd rather own a mic stand that is too heavy than too light (unless we are talking about for live).

I have a pair of Latch Lake Mic King 1100 stands that all the critical work get done with.
They are expensive, heavy and I trust them with the spendy microphones.
I've got a few K&M 25600 stands about toot I don't use them with any microphone priced over (circa) £300.

Assuming you don't want to go to those levels, you can often pick up good mic stands for cheap second-hand. I bought about 20 very solid ones from Richmond Film Hire when they closed down.

K&M are great quality for the price, very robust, rock solid and you can buy spare parts! I’ve equipped a couple of churches where, surprisingly, not everything is looked after properly and the K&Ms mic and RAT music stands stood up to being reconfigured two or three times a day over several years.
