UNPLANNED DOWNTIME: 12th Oct 23:45
Sold - Suhr Doug Aldrich Bridge PIckup in Gold
I have a few of these in 70's Les Paul Customs and they sound great
But I'm going back to T-Tops in one of them so have one for sale
Condition is great and it's a about 9 months old
There's a little tarnishing to the gold cover which I like as they look a bit too shiny when new
They have a very long 4 core wire but I only used them untapped
They include mounting screws and springs but the screws are silver not gold for some reason
I got them on the recommendation of Peter Diezil who said they worked really well with LP's and VH4's
He had previously preferred lower output humbuckers but found this to be a nice alternative
I agree and while it's defiantly hotter than a PAF or T-Top it doesn't feel that hot
It will push the front end of a Marshall into break up quicker but defiantly doesn't feel like a high gain pick up
It sounded great with a VH4 and allowed for for less gain needed from the amp and therefore a less compressed tone
The guitars I have them in are dark sounding guitars anyway but the pick ups cut through well and have a complex lower mid sound that's very rock and roll
I'm going to shut up now as it's beginning to sound like a wine review!!
Any questions just ask
£75 ono plus postage
I can't get images to display but here are links for them
