Hiya.

Anyone got any black F logo volume/tone knobs kicking about? 3 needed for a Strat.

Also, need a black Floyd Rose trem system. Don't *need* the nut as it has one fitted, I'm just after a bridge in black rather the gold one I've got on this guitar at the moment. I'm not an expert on these whatsoever so don't really need something super high-end unless it's cheap - an original great or a licensed one fine as well. Something like this if anyone has one spare in a drawer before I buy a new one -

Edit - looks like a decent used Floyd is harder to get hold of that I'd anticipated. Happy to expand the search to stuff if anyone has an original, a Schaller, etc, pref black but could live with chrome. Happy to pay a bit more and get something half decent as middle of the road stuff like the Floyd Specials are, by all accounts, like rocking horse sh*t on eBay and such places. Will need to check measurements. Failing that, I'll be ordering one of the Wilkinsons from China as they look ideal - just chancing my arm here first as I imagine shipping will take ages and I'm impatient as they come.

Cheers, Dan.

HM strat rebuild? those F knobs are rocking house sh*t atm, last set i saw on ebay were £125 nd missing the rubbers!

I have a black Ping made Floyd Rose from a showmster, but it's base plate is slightly larger on the right/trem arm side so it doesn't sit in a standard floyd route but would be fine for a surface mount ?

    Haha, you guessed right!

It’s a HM I picked up that’s had presumably anything of value that could be ripped out (pickups, knobs, trem) sold off and cheap replacements fitted. However, neck, body are great and replacement pups are half decent so going to try and get it back to something resembling what it should be.

I presumed I’d be able to pick up some of the knobs for next to nothing, or even some knock off ones that would do the job. Nothing about though but had seen the sold prices on some and they're absolutely wild! Couldn't believe my eyes!

R.e. the Floyd - I'm probably looking for a standard fit rather than surface mount to be honest. Trying to get it cosmetically back in the right ballpark. Cheers for the offer though.

@HarrySeven had a phase of collecting those Eighties MIJ HM Stratocasters and Telecasters. It is faintly possible that he hoarded some of the black "F" control knobs.
    Be seeing you.

@Dan_Halen ;  If it's a HM strat rebild your going to need to pick up a kahler spyder to drop in it then as the routing (and also as i recall the post spacing/stud type is) different to a a standard OFR's,that is unless your willing to do a bit of routing/refinishing to the cavity?

Im just getting around to wiring up my own HS rebuild purchase as just a neck and body here many moons ago..... this modded to HS layout & was refinished in neo pink but later i stripped back to its fadded rashberry red, i just got a TBX for it just need to get around to pulling the iron out ;)

I'd looked at those and they seem quite hard to come across as well. It's currently got one of these in which works but looks pants in gold (presume it's a cheap knock off of this model anyway) -

I was going to have to see what I can see out there then measure up. Don't think any routing has happened but not sure if the posts had to move at some point or not. If I get some time tomorrow I'll pull it out so I can see what's going on under there.

Good shout cheers. It's the sort of thing someone might have stuck in a drawer gathering dust. Happy to pay a fair price all things considered and the fact they do seem to be like hen's teeth.

Cheers for the tips as well @Gizmo , I'm an impatient sod and would have ended up buying something of eBay then wondering why it didn't fit.

@Dan_Halen Had a quick look back at my rebuild pics & im pretty sure given your pics that the studs/inserts have been replaced,
my body had been modded with floyd studs on a plate/bar, the kahler spyder studs/inserts are much smaller,in my case i had to have some inserts made to aceppt the orginals stuf types.

If no one can help you out here i fitted one of these Wilkinson Licensed unit from aliexpress to a mates guitar a few months ago and it was about £45 deliverd LINK

Check your post to post mesurements as well as your stud width first but eye balling it id say it will fit

That looks like the sort of thing that would do the job a treat thanks.

Think the posts have been replaced as they look like gold 'sockets' that they screw in to. However, whatever the spacing was before, it's 74mm now which seems to be a fairly standard measurement which is a good thing... assuming they've not got some weird thread size or anything funny going on. I'll definitely measure the stud before ordering anything (once I get 5 mins to myself to pull it out) as I hadn't considered that might be a completely different size on different models.

    Cheers again for your help.
