what sounds better Fishman Presys II or LL baggs stagepro

in Acoustics
i am looking at getting a 12 string acoustic to dabble with. i currently have a martin OM18 E with a baggs anthem which sounds amazing and a Yamaha LJX36 with their art system

i run an axe fx 2 set up so can tone sculpt through that as necessary in any event.

so looking at a a sigma 12 string with the Presys system or an alvarez with the baggs system

what is the better system

both guitars more or less the same price in the UK

    The important thing is to get the right guitar, forgetting about its pickup. If you like both guitars equally then I would say go for the one with the Baggs system. It's purely a matter of personal taste but I recently sold an acoustic with the Presys system which I never thought sounded very good. Acoustically the guitar was fine but plugged into a good acoustic amp I didn't like it.

    Even more than that...

    Get the best guitar you can find *without* an electronics package onboard, fit a simple passive pickup - K&K, or just a plain but decent undersaddle piezo - and use an external preamp if the Axe-FX won't do what you want.

    You will get a better sound like that, and the external preamp can be easily changed when technology moves on, or in the event something goes wrong with it... onboard ones do, and are a massive pain to replace if you can't find something that's an exact fit.
