Throbak Pick-Ups.... I appreciate they are expensive and hard to track down but....... anyone aware of UK dealers or able to point me anywhere other than USA?

Many thanks - Mike

    Throbak lists approved international dealers on its website. There appear to be two or three in the UK and about half a dozen around continental Europe.
    Be seeing you.

    @Funkfingers - many thanks and appreciated. Checked their site yesterday and UK suppliers listed are outdated. Haar Guitars in Netherlands offer the widest range but the prices!! Great pick-ups though and best I’ve played over the years.

    If you are hearing something in a particular pickup that does not seem to be available anywhere else, the only satisfactory option is to buy that one.

    I can relate to this. I declined to purchase a brand new Fender AV ‘72 Telecaster Custom after I failed to win an eBay auction for a NOS original Fender Wide Range humbucker. (Original box. Never been installed!) Only the genuine article will do.

    Be seeing you.

    There are some great UK builders you could try: Montys, OX4, Mojo, Oil City etc

  • Might be worth putting WTB (want to buy) add in the classifieds, I picked up a pair a while back on the forum. They do come up for sale.

    I used Haar guitars to get my throbaks. Only place I could really find in Europe with stock and whilst not cheap it is a bit cheaper that importing from the US.

    I bought mine through Joes Pedals. He doesn’t stock them but he can order them. Worked out cheaper than Haar and no import duty to pay.

    Many thanks all for the comments and helpful advice - much appreciated.

     Would be for a re-issue CS Historic 59 Les Paul Standard ... a year of birth “keeper” for me, so worth the effort and time to get it right.

    Ghastly pricing right now but I’ll look into Joe’s Pedals option first - cheers @hyperben ;
