Clearing a bit of space in my workshop, this is now surplus to requirements.

Originally built in the 1950s as a Mullard 5-10 Hifi amp (which was a DIY project for home builders), I was given this  few years ago, and have converted it into a very nice and unusual guitar amp.

It has a separate preamp and power amp. The preamp has an EF86 and a Baxandall tone stack with bass, treble and volume controls. The power amp uses a GZ34 (or GZ32 rectifier), 2 x EL84s, an ECC83 and another EF86. This means you have cascaded EF86s driving this amp, which is unique and produces quite a lot of gain. Tone wise it goes from a lovely warm clean sound, with masses of control from the Bax stone stack, to a fairly heavy distortion.

It's in decent working condition for it's age, with the modifications done carefully using high quality parts. It's safe to use and should be reliable. There's a little bit of noise from it's 60 year old carbon comp resistors, but otherwise it seems well behaved.

It's all ready to be mounted in some sort of cabinet (I had it in a combo with the power amp in the bottom.) To be fair, it's best to sell it as an ongoing project, although it's fully working. I can also supply the original Mullard paperwork relating to the amp, and a schematic for the mods.

Not sure what to price this at, but as it's otherwise taking up space and might not get used, does £100 delivered sound too much?

    Pics now up. Has 1 x 16 ohm speaker output.

    Comes with a spare Mullard EF86, and 1 x Mullard, 1 x Ferranti installed. All working.

    I've remembered I've also got a part built 1x12 combo cab in the works for this. It's just a carcass at the moment, but could be completed in a range of colours.

    If anyone's interested, we could come to an arrangement on a cabinet to suit.

    I will supply an unloaded cabinet for £100, half my normal price for an empty 1x12 cabinet.

    Or £130 with a G12T-100 speaker.
