Jour de Nouvelle Guitare (Larrivee)
Ooooo yeah! Well today I took the day off work and set about trying as many guitars as possible, via Back Alley and Dawsons in Chester, then the wonderful Frailers in Runcorn. I tried Martin, Taylor, Yamaha, Epiphone, Takamine, Guild, and yes, even Farida. But the guitar that floated me boat was a Larrivee DV-03E.
Sitka Spruce with maple binding, solid mahogany back/sides, ebony fretboard.
It rings like a bell and it is frickin' loud but sweet sounding, plenty of bass oomph, and eminently playable. It sounds like the sound in my head. Sounds good plugged in too.
This is my most expensive guitar purchase ever. It would appear that I have become an Acoustic Guitarist.
Bang tidy!
I'm just a Maserati in a world of Kias.

This is the 'cheap backup', is it?
(Oh, my mistake)
Text book example of mission creep
Given your guitar shredding picking habit, you'll be needing the acoustic version of this to keep it looking tidy.
