Trade Duncan antiquity humbucker set for something more modern?

Got the antiquities in a les Paul. Nice though they are, I think my current band needs something a bit more modern. Kinda 90s britpop.

Anyone fancy a swap?

I’ve been looking for a SD antiquity neck if you’re up for selling?

IMO, the only thing preventing a Les Paul with Duncan Antiquities from making Britpoop guitar tones is the possible microphonic squeal from the unpotted metal covers.

Arguably, a mid booster might improve the louder overdrive moments.

What amplification and pedals are you using?
    Be seeing you.

At the mo I've got an ac15 and a marshall origin 20. There's a nice fat clean sound the bands like drugstore used to do (with a les paul). I always went for low powered buckers but played a friend's LP recently with really hot suhr buckers which sounded great clean.

There's a good chance that the weak link here is me and a) not knowing really what I want or b) not being very good at dialling it in.

  • Regarding the other queries, I might end up selling but I'd like to get another pair sorted first.

Obvious question. If your Antiquities are covered, are the covers nickel or gold plated? If their bobbins are exposed, are they black or black and cream?

Ah the important question - the aesthetics! The covers are aged nickel.
