Only bought this last week (my WTB thread is only about 2 pages down!)

I bought a few pickups to have a shoot-out and keep the winner, as you do. This wasn't "the one"... But since the trembucker versions very rarely crop up second hand (if ever!) I had to buy new. Despite being in 100% brand new condition, no wire snipped or anything, the store aren't willing to take it back. Some do, some don't. Alas that's the gamble when trying stuff out I suppose.

However, I now have an unexpected incoming guitar that I do in fact need a pickup for... Just not this one. It's not that I disliked it that much tbh, it's just the style of guitar I have incoming would suit a different pup.

So anything trem-spaced (F-spaced) that you fancy trading towards this would be considered.

Things on my shortlist (all quite different, but still);
Duncan TB-59, TB-4
Dimarzio Evo, D'Activator, Super Distortion, PAF Pro, D Sonic, Crunch Lab
Any Suhr humbuckers
Anything else you want to get rid of, suggest away!

As you can see, very new, full length wire, no casing stripped at all, in perfect condition with all box goodies (mounting screws & ring)

    I'd love to but all I could offer are some 90s Epi LP pups haha :)

    What sorta sound you get outta these?

  • Haha oh dear, don't quite think they'd go well in this Jackson!

    The Custom is what Seymour Duncan describe as a "PAF on steroids". It's big and powerful sounding. Moderate output, sits somewhere between vintage and modern. Capable of doing most styles well. It's got a big bottom end, but not flubby. Hasn't quite got the pronounced mids that most high output humbuckers have. A little scooped, but very clear.

    I have a mate who's desperate to rid himself of his EMGs so I've offered him a pity trade for this :lol: So its probably off the cards for now...

  • My apologies, I thought I'd put it. Considering it's brand new-ness I was considering £60 or there abouts.

  • Just so you know the only difference between a custom, custom 5, custom custom is the type of magnet. I like the custom custom as it's alnico 2 rather than the ceramic magnet in the custom.
