Hiscox - Great Service

What's Hot
I recently got a Hiscox standard case for my D28 and realised there was a bit of lateral movement of the guitar in the case. I contacted Hiscox (who replied within minutes) and they informed me that once the lid is closed the guitar would not move, but offered to send some pads to ease my mind. Pads duly arrived next day. So, great service from my point of view.

    Good to know.

Is the Hiscox much better than the Martin case, or did you not have the Martin one?

The Martin case was okay but I was bit concerned by the strength of it on top. There was quite a lot of flex there. I considered a top end TKL but they were extortionate.

I too have every praise for Hiscox. I started a thread in appreciation of their making me a one off (for my Yamaha SGV-800, now sold). Having booked a visit to their factory in Cannock, they made a case while I waited. Fantastic service.

I have an original Hiscox for my 1971 Martin D12-35 which I bought in 1989. It came in a plywood case, which may or may not have been the original Martin case (I have no idea, or the case any more), but I didn't think it was good enough so I bought one of the then fairly new Hiscox cases, after seeing a magazine ad showing a man standing on the lid of one proclaiming that he was a '12 stone nutter' :).

Not very long afterwards, I had been out for an afternoon drink or several (with a man who is now a celebrity antiques expert, but that's another story... ;) ) and back at my flat, very proudly showed him my new guitar and the case. He seemed sceptical of how strong a plastic case was, so remembering the ad, and knowing that I only weighed about 9 stone at the time, I stood on the lid... with the guitar inside.

I still have both the case and the Martin, completely undamaged of course.

I got a Hiscox case for my Takamine EG321c when I bought it back in 2011. Its rugged and lightweight too so a great find.

I think Hiscox should just throw a few loose pads inside every case they sell. They're brilliant cases but I've pretty much always had to add a few pads to be completely happy with the fit, and they send them out without question if you ask anywa
