Fret buzz on Faith Naked Venus

 I've tried everything I know to get rid of fret buzz on my faith Naked Venus. G string only, 5th to 8th frets. I've had the frets flattened and polished, I've checked the nut, I've changed the neck relief, but nothing works. It only happens when I go in deep with my thumb, but that's my style. It's slightly better if I switch to 12s from 11s, but I prefer 11s. 
Any suggestions please?  I love it's tone and don't want to give it up.
