Ive been playing my Father In Laws Acoustic for years, and every time i had the opportunity to do so it made me want a Brook.... so Last year I ordered one. this is My Brook Taw finished with Macassar Ebony back and sides, spruce top, ebony fretboard and facia...

i don't have it yet as its settling in and is awaiting a final setup once the wood is settled. but.... I can't wait.

Woof! If you get it in time, any chance we could persuade you to come along to the Huddersfield birthday bash with that?

Beautiful - the chaps at Brook give nothing but stellar service. I have a yew/walnut Tavy and love it to bits.

I visited them last year. They were an absolute delight, and it's a fascinating day out. I love their workshop, it is just heaven.

  • Congrats, they are great guitars! Going down to custom order a Torridge 15 years ago is still one of my fondest guitar buying experiences!

It arrived today, my father in law dropped it off tonight....... it’s an amazing instrument,  I’m in heaven. More to follow once I’ve gotten over the initial shock.

That looks wonderful! We don't get many Brook guitars in the US. What are their best features?

the sound is just balanced, sweet to the ears and addictive. the fit and finish are flawless. Brook guitars are made in devon in small quantities and to order. its like buying a custom fitted suit from the best quality materials, it looks great and feels better.

The back of that looks amazing.

I really feel like there's a noticeable difference in quality when you step up to a properly nice acoustic.  Enjoy!

    Kudos awarded for the hiwatt
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I'm now 18 months into owning my Taw - and it's still a joy to own and play. Mine's a spruce top with bubinga back and sides. Sadly, like most nice guitars, I only get to hear it properly when someone else plays it or I face a hard wall to get the reflected sound I'm projecting out from the sound hole...

good gas that man. Despite living in Devon for over 7 years I have yet to play a brook.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

I'm waiting for my Brook Taw lefty - Cedar top / Cherry back and sides with a 46mm nut width. Should be ready late October.

BTW - I've asked Simon to put in a soundport. Latest build pics below:
