A new song by a good friend

Hello.. I don't hang around here much.. I have been in a band and stuff when I was younger but don't really play as much as id like to any more so don't really have much too post music wise... But my very good friend and drummer from mentioned band has been getting a demo together...

Hes a great drummer but plays many instruments and produced it all by himself.. This has been quite a journey hes been on recently and ive been there watching the whole way.. We have been doing open mic nights since about June this year and more recently hes playing much bigger gigs (he does this song acoustically which I can post if anyone is interested)..

So I hope you guys don't mind but I think its great and he should be really proud of this and im trying to share it around a bit and I hope you guys like it too... You can hear it here

Its a bit Bowie / Numan style vocal, I think I might have changed that vocal sound after the opening verse, also make the guitars a little tighter for this style. Otherwise, good song, decent recording, has it been mastered ?.....

Well hes done all of this at home on his PC.. He is actually a drummer (as I mentioned) and wants to get a real drum track down... So theres been some programming on this.. So its mastered as much as he can right now I guess...

He has also got to that point where hes been working on it a bit too long and needs to give it a break.. But I will absolutely pass your comments on, so thanks again

So now I just checked out his FB page...and the first thing I see his edited newspaper article of Nigel Farage, with some rather choice word.....now Im not a fan of people posting stuff like that on any social media, and I think people who are intending to get some public support should be careful what they post and where, Ive gone from liking the music to not liking the person behind it.

Just my opinion, so pass that on as well please.

Whooops.. sorry David if you ever see this...

I can assure you while he may have certain strong views of politics hes actually a really nice and good person all round and just very passionate about some things and he actually usually doesn't use language like that (typical that he did it this one time and you saw it and you will see that if you look at his other posts, I was actually a bit surprised by it too)... Politics has a way of dividing people.. Please don't let that one post colour your view...

Good track.

His vocal is good but it's incredibly dry and up front and particularly exposed at the beginning. I think that a very subtly flange or chorus could make a difference.

Hello.. Thanks for the comment I will pass it on. I do believe that theres a light reverb on the vocal.

Or you could maybe just stick to commenting on the music. I've gone from not knowing anything about you to thinking you come across a bit like a right prissy Nigel Farage. Just my opinion. Sorry.

I agree...and I did post on the music, I also responded after the OP corrected the error.

I can be as outspoken as the next person, but.....not when I dont know who's watching.
