Yamaha LS 16 A.R.E question

I'm going from GAK prices but others are similar.

The natural is £759 and the sunburst is £675. Other specs look identical. 

Presumably the price difference is down purely to the aesthetic selection of the natural top?

    If you look at the pricing for the LL16 then it's the other way around. I suppose it's just what GAK are trying to shift the quickest.
    The spec is identical yes. There is a cheaper mahogany model which is designated with an M so watch out for that.
    TBH go used, the old spec LS16 go for peanuts on eBay.

    Oh yeah! Just checked Dawson's and it's £886. Wow.

    Thanks for the used tip, will take a look. How does the old spec differ?

    The new spec has a passive pick up and a different bracing system. The old spec is a tiny bit heavier and has a much better case.
    When you look at the 6 series then the old spec is a better buy as it has an ebony board and bridge, whereas the new one has some sort of rosewood substitute.

    Great guitar.  I've got the LL16ARE.  Wish I'd waited and found an LS as the dread size is probably a bit big for my shortarse frame.
