something less than £100 - spare bedroom amp?

couldn't be simpler.. something less than 100 quid, just going to be used as a back up/when mates come over type of thing. no need to be hugely loud, something portable would be ideal..

London based.. what have you got?

Not sure if you want a combo but if you'd consider a head then this little fella is just amazing!!!

It's a 1960s Linear L45A made in England and all valve. I'm pretty sure all the valves are Mullards. It's really dinky and is beautifully made.

It has Treble and Bass and Volume controls and the Volume acts as an On/Off. Starts to break up nicely at about 12 o'clock but that obviously depends on whether you're using humbuckers or single coils.

It is actually quite loud if you use it with a treble booster in front of it, as I do, and through a 2x12 cab it sounds amazing. I'm using an 8 ohm 2x12.

It comes with it's original cage but somebody also made a solid mahogany case for it (see pics) which is really nicely made and looks great.

Happy with £100 and also happy to post it for £8.99 with UPS on a next day....or come and try it!! I'm in Cambridgeshire.

I like that surfguy....real sweet...love the mahogany cage reminds me of my dads old radiogram. Shame this sort of design went away.

Nowehere near as cool as the Linear but I have a 5w Epiphone Valve Special - all valve with a 10'' speaker and FX. Mint condition.

Totally understand....to be honest it was a long shot and I really did think you'd be after a combo. Really no problem at all. I'm just not using it a lot at the moment so.......

Good luck with a combo though and I've heard really good things about the Epi amps!!

@robwright @surfguy13 if i can pick up a 1x12 cab on the cheap it might be an option. the epi is way too far away, no car since the move into central london sadly

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can do Stansted next Friday..........I might be going up to Canary Wharf a week tomorrow but that's not been confirmed yet. You should be able to get a 1x12 quite easily and cheaply on Gumtree in London. There are always loads when I look. I was going to get a 1x12 for this myself but.......................!
