SOLD.
I built this, MJW #147, for myself in June of last year, and now need to sell it on to raise funds for other things. It started life as a Marshall Lead 12, but now only the cabinet and chassis remain. The cabinet has been overhauled, including being re-covered in this fetching shade of blue, with brand new corners fitted. The grill cloth is Ampeg silver-blue which is gorgeous, complimented by silver piping. The control knobs are black and silver Marshall style to match.
The amp itself is the Goldstar circuit, but with a fixed gain boost (the standard Goldstar boost is variable, but there isn't room on this control panel. This is the 5W 6V6 version, and it also uses 2 ECC83s in the preamp. All the valves are JJ. The transformers are BLS custom designs. Besides the normal controls, this amp is also fitted with Power Scaling, an £80 option, which is the extra unmarked knob on the front. It works brilliantly well. You can have great cranked valve tone while the kids are asleep!
The speaker is a Celestion G10 Vintage, 8 ohm, and the amp has 4,8 and 16 ohm outputs so you can run it through bigger cabs if you want. All top quality components used, hand-wired and will be covered like a new amp by a 12 month warranty. Awesome little amp, hurts to sell it, but I need some cash frankly.
My list price for a Goldstar combo with PS would be around £700, but given this uses a Marshall cab (extensively reworked though) and chassis, and given the tough times we are in, I thought £350 delivered to UK might be tempting.

I concur. That is art.
And does the 6V6 mean there are some lovely Fender cleans?
Thanks!
It weighs 10kg.
Depends what you mean by Fender cleans. Yes there are some excellent, shimmery cleans, but not like a Deluxe, Twin or Super. The preamp has more influence than the output valve.
