Guitar ID help please?

My dad inherited a guitar after a friend passed away last year. It's a thing of beauty, plays well, sounds fantastic and looks rather special too.

Another friend has been able to confirm that the arm rest, tuners (gotoh) and pickup (headway) were installed after construction, but, that the deceased commissioned a luthier near Edinburgh (we believe) to build the instrument.

Originally I thought it might have been an early Kelday, but, after getting in touch we're assured it's not.

A number of photos can be found here...

that looks like a decent guitar - solid materials and fairly well executed sensible model 000, now you mention Bill Kelday, and I'm thinking - one of his students from Anniesland Collage which he tutored at, they did that model as standard 2nd year project I'd say.
the binding / purfling at the heel on the back is a giveaway.
I like the Lowdenesque 'chin' at the back of the headstock - adds strength at a weak point.
